find somethin' on this blog.

experimental embroidery.

I didn't tidy my sewing studio before i left for vacation, and i still haven't done it. So what do I do? I find a portable craft that i can enjoy from the comfort of my clean and mentally soothing living room! Aren't I awful? My mother always made us clean the house as kids before we left on vacation. Something that as a child i never understood. I always thought we're not going to be here, what is the use in cleaning? I understand now.... nobody wants to come home to a messy house. Let me clarify, my house is clean, it is my sewing room that was left in a state of mass destruction. Scraps everywhere, half-finished projects here, forgotten projects there, dust bunnies and tumbleweeds and i opted to just shut the door. I guess i have my Sunday activity cut out for me. I hope it rains tomorrow.

I am exactly the same; I like to have my flat clean and tidy before I go on vacation. It is nice coming back to some order.

It is interesting to see that you also do embroidery. I was hooked on such projects for years. The only thing is that they take time. One of my longest projects took 5 years but that was not because it was big; I just got distracted along the way, moved countries and forgot all about it.

my mom did the same thing when I was growing up! Whenever I leave the house in a state of chaos I always regret not cleaning before I left.

That butterfly embroidery is so pretty. I've got the embroidery bug after seeing all of the new sublime stitching patterns, so I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my order :)
