a jungly zig zag stroller quilt.

Another zig-zag quilt, this time in blues and green. I used Alexander Henry's 2D Zoo print in this one, perhaps a little too sparingly, but live and learn. I still like this one. I recently saw the 2D Zoo prints in the large scale design in a quilt shop and thought it would make an awesome cushion cover for a nursery. The original 2D Zoo was impossible to find a couple of years ago when it made its debut. Does anyone remember that? Well, now it's all over the place and I couldn't be happier. Nothing says baby like fresh, bright colors and jungle themes.

Thanks for stopping by....

  6. So cute! I especially love the solid aqua you used on this one. And that binding fabric really ties in well with the zig-zag.

  7. Geez Lady!!! Your a machine!!! :):)
Been admiring All your works!! Not familiar with the animal prints but Super cute! Have you ever used your machine for sewing the entire bias instead of doing it by hand?? The little lady's I have class with only machine sew theirs. I like the machine to get the bias started then second time around by hand. Just interested in your process..and thoughts! ok friend till next time!

  8. I love this, you're so right it's so fresh, springy and perfect for a baby. Did you do anything special to get your zigzag quilting so uniform? I have a zigzag quilt top that I made for a halloween quilt, that I have yet to finish... mainly because the quilting just seems like it will drive me nuts!

  13. Erica - love your stuff! I'm new to quilting. I am young and love the idea of hip/modern quilts. I am finding that you have to serach to find books/tutorials that are specific to this style. I was wondering if you had any suggestions for "how to" guides that you like. Or maybe if you have posted tutorials in past blog postings that might be of interest. Also, I was noticing your binding. I love how basic it is; narrow and crisp. What is your technique? I'd love any tips you have. Again, great work!
