Another herringbone quilt...this one is backed in a lovely vintage, screen-printed, floral cotton fabric. I adore the contrast in the preppy little sweetheart.
Hope this December finds you all well!

beautiful! I am so glad you posted this. I actually just bought fabric today to copy your first herringbone quilt (different colors, just same design) for a charity quilt. I vowed to never quilt zigzags again, but I was going to do it anyway since it was for a good cause. I am thrilled to see that you quilted the squares and it looks great! Now I don't have to quilt zigzags again. Phew!
ReplyDeleteVery nice - I love your two -colour quilt. A red and white quilt is on my to-do one day list and I think I may 'borrow' your idea ;)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Erica, this is gorgeous! You continue to inspire me!

Hi! I absolutely love your blog and all of your quilts! I am in the middle of my first full sized quilt inspired by your herringbone quilts :) I was wondering, what kind of batting do you use? I'm not sure what to use yet!
ReplyDeleteI have pinned this a while ago in hopes of "recreating" it for a baby...now I have the chance! I'm going to change the colors in honor of his Irish heritage. (If you don't mind me borrowing your idea...) What size is each HST?
ReplyDeleteErica, this is so gorgeous! Any chance you'd share where you got your daisies on navy floral fabric? I'm in love with this print but can't find anything similar.
ReplyDeleteHi Erica! I'm giving a talk on color theory and I'd love to use the photo of your red and white herringbone quilt as an example of dynamic monochromatic design. I would include attribution to you as the person who made the quilt and took the picture. Would that be okay with you? If not, no worries!
