I bought a yard of the Alexander Henry car fabric about 6 months ago and never knew what to do with it. That is until this popped into my head. Keep it simple, I told myself.....let the cars stand out! I think it worked. I really enjoy how subtle this quilt is despite the bold colors.

I used four different colors of thread to grid quilt this. Although you can't tell the difference between the green and the yellow, it's there.

And one last photo to show you the luscious cotton sateen binding. I have never bound a quilt with sateen and I gotta tell ya' its a really nice finish.
This quilt is being donated for a charity fundraiser....
I'm sure I'll be back soon, thanks for stopping in!

Oh Erica! I think this is one of the most beautiful boys quilts I have seen in a while - simple but stunning.
very cute!!!
The way you've put it together really does showcase the car fabric. Great job! and it's adorable :)
this is really cute... I'm with you, i think sometimes the best way to show off your fabric is just keeping it simple. love the colors
So beautiful! I love the colour combination.
This was a great way to use that car fabric, which is so adorable. And I love the colors you put together for this project. It works! Cool stitching too. It sounds like you had a lot of fun with this one.
Your automobile quilt is delightful! You'll have to do a series: planes, trains and automobiles.

Absolutely adorable. It's perfect. I love it.
this is beautiful! I really love the color combination that you used. I've got some of that Lush fabric and didn't know the best way to use it. I think I will be copying your idea
I love the colored thread. What a great way to make the quilting a feature on a quilt with a simple design.
This is such a great quilt! And I love that you used different colored threads for the quilting. I bet it's even better in person!
Erica, this is beautiful! I think my favorite part is the multi-colored stitching on the gray fabric on the back. Real cool/cute.
