I finished this quilt months ago, but am just now getting around to posting the photos. It didn't help that they were not on my camera which can be a logistical hindrance. ha. So, here it is.....my modern quilt in all its glory.

Like most of my quilts, there was not rhyme or reason, I just made twelve
different cross blocks that I think speak well to each other and tied them together with the white
sashing.

I love the wonky concentric quilting on this blanket, it lends well to super crinkling after washing and I love that!

This is the back... a little unexpected and wonky too. I love this quilt and have thought about making another with more cheerful solids and muted prints. It might be another few months before I share that one too! The quilt measures
approximately 45"x60"
What a beautiful quilt! It really is very modern, with the blocks, the colors, and that fabulous quilting. Love it!

I love it! And with all the white, the quilty crinkles stand out even more.
ReplyDeleteWow I love that quilt! One thing I really like about it is that it is unisex colored. Most quilts I see are really girly. My husband would actually let me put this around the house...haha!
ReplyDeletelove the randomness... right up my alley! nice job!
ReplyDeletethis quilt stops my heart! it's so beautiful - colors and shapes and all...
ReplyDeleteI concur that this is a quilt great for a man and it's hard to find sophisticated quilts for them. Any chance you could post a tutorial for it? Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you got my other comment earlier today...I'm confused about the whole blogging communication stuff.
ReplyDeleteAnyway...I am ready to make this quilt for my son! I have questions...
1. What size blocks did you use and what size were the sashings?
2. I have some slightly textured fabrics I purchased...some looks like men's plaid and solid suit fabric.
3. What method did you use to construct the blocks?
4. What white fabric did you use to make sure color did not come through to the backing.
I am so in love with the way your quilt turned out!!
