This is my shadow box in all of its glory. That is before it fell off the wall and my figurines broke! I suppose that's what I get for collecting seemingly unnecessary objects. Although, these were all contained in one little place and did not add to the clutter of which the rest of my home has become. I think I might take some gorilla glue to a couple of the pieces, I still don't have it in me to toss them out.

buttons and cameras.
I got these buttons at an antique store a while back. I was thumbing through my vintage button collection and realized that i didn't have nearly enough (really, I have jars and jars full of these puppies) pink and aqua buttons. I took care of that. Maybe one day I will be bold enough to teach myself how to use the buttonhole setting on the sewing machine! Maybe sooner than later. I saw a pattern for some fabric napkin rings that I really want to try out but I wasn't sure that it would look so good with snaps. Oh and the navy buttons I just couldn't resist, they are chunky and have a cute pattern, into my basket they went.
About the camera fund...I truly believe that I own the crappiest camera known to man. It has an autofocus mechanism that as you can tell doesn't work. I am sick of apologizing for the photographs of my crafts and I would like some decent images for my own archives. I've had enough! Today I am putting $20 in my piggy bank and in a couple of months I will probably be apologizing for photos of morning dew on leaves or worse, rose petals.

turtle quilt.
I just finished the binding on this hand-quilted little piece yesterday morning. The binding that I used to dread so much is now my favorite part. Hand stitching the binding is such a mindless and relaxing task! This mini-quilt is not big enough to use as a blanket but is better as a wall-hanging. I am really very pleased with the way that it turned out. This was an experiment and i was in no hurry to get it done. I have been picking it up and putting it down for the last couple of months. Good things do come to those who wait! Happy Memorial Day.

The quilt.
This is the quilt all finished. Can you see it way back there? I actually finished it on Sunday and was going to post the pictures but was unhappy (as i always am) with the way the photos turned out. I gave up and posted what I shot on Sunday. I am at least happy with the way the quilt turned out and that is all that really matters to me. I have a really small doll sized quilt that I have been working on that just needs the binding finished that I will post soon. It's off to work for me, enjoy this fine Thursday!

sunflower grocery tote.
I was asked by a friend to make this grocery tote for his sunflower-loving mother for mother's day. I love the yellow polka-dot fabric, it makes me giddy. I used canvas duck cloth for the body which gives the tote durability, this is what i made all of my grocery bags out of a couple of years ago, and they are still in great shape. I have one more tote to make, and my friend has requested a lily for his grandmother, I haven't quite figured that one out just yet. That one requires some 3-D forethought. Hmmmmmm......

for the love of gnomes.
I made this little tote/purse this morning. I felt the need for a project that I could start and finish in a couple of hours. I had a recipient in mind, but now i might keep it myself forcing me to lighten my load for summer. The bag is made of linen and cotton prints, fully lined with a polka-dot inner pocket which i did not take a picture of because frankly i knew it would not turn out. I need a new camera. Got any suggestions??
